How To Guide for Styling Your 3D Printed Bouquet Outdoors

large 3d printed brick flower bouquets in garden

You got the bouquet. You love it. Now what?

Whether you are decorating a patio, sprucing up a front porch, or adding some permanent color to a garden bed, 3D printed bouquets are surprisingly versatile and surprisingly easy to style. No watering. No wilting. No guilt when you forget about them for three weeks. We see you.

Here are our favorite ways to display and secure your bouquet outdoors so it looks intentional, stays put, and holds up beautifully season after season.

Reminder: For any outdoor display, make sure your bouquet is made with ASA filament; it is UV and weather resistant. Not sure what yours is made from? Check the product page or reach out and ask us.

Option 1: Plant It in a Pot

This is our go-to for a polished, intentional look that feels completely put-together.

How to do it:

Choose a pot or planter that complements the bouquet’s colors; terracotta, ceramic, or a simple white pot all work beautifully

Fill with regular potting soil, pebbles, or decorative rocks; all are great for anchoring the stems

Press the stems firmly into the soil or rocks until the bouquet stands upright and stable

No special tools required. No watering. Ever.

Pro tips:

Use a heavier pot or add rocks at the bottom for extra stability on windy days

Surround the base with real succulents, moss, or decorative stones for a mixed natural-meets-modern look

Group two or three pots at varying heights for a curated display that looks like it belongs in a boutique garden shop

Option 2: Deck Ledges, Railings, and Window Sills

Got a flat railing or ledge? Your bouquet belongs there.

How to do it:

Set the bouquet directly on the surface; no anchoring needed for most calm-weather placements

For windy areas, place it inside a small container filled with rocks or gravel to add weight and stability

Use floral foam tucked into a container to hold bottom exactly where you'd like

Styling note:

Ledge placements look best with odd numbers: a trio of bouquets or a single statement piece flanked by lanterns or candles. The asymmetry feels natural and intentional.

Option 3: In-Ground Planting

Want it to look like it actually grew there? You can absolutely do this.

How to do it:

Treat it just like planting a real flower; dig a small hole or part the soil and mulch

Push the stems down a few inches until the bouquet stands on its own

Pack the soil back around the base to hold it in place

This approach blends seamlessly into a garden bed. Pair it alongside real perennials and greenery and it looks like it belongs, while quietly never needing any attention. No watering needed. We cannot stress this enough. Please do not water it.

Rain is totally fine! ASA handles moisture beautifully. Just make sure your display is stable enough that it will not tip over in heavy wind.

Option 4: Patio and Outdoor Table Centerpieces

Think of your 3D printed bouquet as the anchor to a whole outdoor vignette.

Pair with outdoor lanterns, LED pillar candles, or river stones for a cohesive tablescape

Place in the center of an outdoor dining table in a low, weighted vessel

Use a tray or wooden board underneath to tie the whole look together and prevent wobbling

Color tip:

Match your bouquet’s tones to your existing outdoor cushions, furniture, or the color of your home’s exterior. It makes the whole space feel considered, like you absolutely did this on purpose.

Option 5: Front Porch and Entryway

First impressions matter. A pop of permanent color at your front entry is one of the easiest, lowest-maintenance upgrades you can make.

Flank your front door with two matching pots each containing a bouquet

Tuck a bouquet into a window box alongside trailing real plants

Hang a small pot with a bouquet on a shepherd’s hook in your front yard

General Tips for Any Outdoor Display

Stability first: in windy spots, always anchor in soil, rocks, or a weighted vessel

Height matters: elevating bouquets in taller pots makes them feel more dramatic and garden-like

Mix textures: combine your 3D printed blooms with natural elements like wood, stone, moss, or real greenery for depth

Think in groupings: one bouquet is nice; three at varying heights is stunning

Seasonal refresh: while the bouquet itself will not change, swap out surrounding pots, ribbons, or accents by season or consider swapping out petal colors for seasons, to show team support, or for holidays with our petal Add-On Packs!

The Best Part?

Your 3D printed bouquet will look just as good on year three as it does on day one.

No deadheading. No fertilizer. No guilt.

Just beautiful, permanent color doing its thing while you enjoy your patio.

That is the whole point. That is the Things Forge promise.
