Every year around now, someone asks the question out loud like it's a brave act: "Isn't it a little early for Halloween?"
We regret (not!) to inform you that it is not. Nearly half of people start their Halloween shopping in September or earlier, decorations and gifts are the very first thing they reach for, and somewhere on your street there is already a skeleton with a name, a backstory, and better exterior lighting than your actual house. The season didn't sneak up on you. It's been here for weeks, wearing shorts.
So no, if you've felt the pull to start, you're not early. You're right on time. Possibly a hair behind the skeleton people, but we don't measure ourselves against them. They have a lot going on over there.
Here's where we come in, and it's not the giant-inflatable end of things. We don't do forty-pound yard skeletons or bags of plastic spiders. We make the small spooky stuff: the little hand-finished character that lives on your desk, the tiny gift that makes great party favors, the one weird-cute thing that helps your whole workspace feel like October without requiring a ladder.
We've got a little haunted crew ready for exactly that: a jack-o'-lantern ghost that clicks like a dream, a ghost cat in a teacup for the person in your life who is exactly that specific, and a bubbling ghost cauldron — each one 3D printed and hand-finished right here in Kansas City, each with a real mechanical switch inside.
Every spooky guy is made to order in small batches by two people (supervised, poorly, by two dogs). Betty finds the ghosts deeply upsetting and has filed several complaints. Walter has adopted the cauldron and refuses to be parted from it. Household morale is currently split.
